I searched for Early Literacy on LibraryThing and found the book, Early Literacy Storytimes @ Your Library: Partnering with Caregivers for Success, by Saroj Nadkarni Ghoting. The book focuses on how to create story times that are not only beneficial to the children who attend, but are also educational to their caregivers. It includes sample story times that model for parents how to select and share books with their children, as well as ways to encourage the skills children need to be ready to learn to read.

Module 4--RSS
For this assignment I've added two RSS feeds, instead of one. This is because the perfect RSS feed for me is the Every Child Ready to Read from ALA; however, since Professor H. used that RSS as the example, I thought it would be best to find another one as well. The first RSS is from Reading Rockets.
The Reading Rockets project is comprised of PBS television programs, available on videotape and DVD; online services, including the web sites ReadingRockets.org and ColorinColorado.org; and professional development opportunities. Reading Rockets is an educational initiative of WETA, the flagship public television and radio station in the nation's capital, and is funded by a major grant from the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs.
The second RSS is from Every Child Ready to Read @ Your Library, which is a joint early literacy project of the Public Library Association and the Association for Library Service to Children.

Module 3--Podcast
This podcast comes from the radio show Baby Talk aired by WERU 89.9 FM Blue Hill on 02/16/06. In it the host talks to 3 professionals who deal with early literacy. One of these professionals is a children's librarian, who discusses some of the programs relating to early literacy that she presents at her library. The link is http://www.everyzing.com/viewMedia.jsp?match=query,channel&expand=true&filter=1&num=10&dedupe=1&start=10&mc=en-all&il=en&col=en-all-public-ep&q=library+%22early+literacy%22&res=46644428&e=5564654&index=15&seek=134.459, and I found it using Everyzing: http://www.everyzing.com/.

Module 2--Blog Link: Early Literacy and Public Libraries
I was a little surprised that I although I was able to find many web articles about early literacy and public libraries, I didn't find many blogs. The blog I selected was created by a youth services librarian at the Twinsburg Public Library in Ohio as part of The Family Place project. On her blog, she reviews books for children, recommends some web resources related to reading and literacy, and gives tips on ways to promote reading with your child. She also makes announcements for what is going on in the children’s department at the Twinsburg Public Library.
One quote from her blog: Welcome to Booking for a Look! I hope that you find this site to be a useful tool in selecting some great children's books. I'll be reviewing some of the best new books for kids, as well as some old favorites! In addition to book reviews, I'll also be talking about some of the great programs we are doing at Twinsburg Public Library .
The Blog URL is: http://bookingforalook.blogspot.com/ and I found it using Blog Search.
